System Requirements

Print Here is a listing of system requirements for all our Windows based systems:

Server
Windows Server 2008, 2003 or AS/400 recommended. Windows Vista Business or Ultimate, XP Pro, or 2000 will also work.

If an AS/400 server, ASNA's Datagate 5.0 Version 5.1162 or later will need installed on the AS/400. This can be downloaded from our website at downloads. Datagate supports iSeries machines running V4R5 through V5Rx.

If a PC server, we recommend Windows Server 2003 or Windows 2000 (SP2). Windows 2000 SP3 or later is dramatically slower. You must be signed on with Administrative privileges in order to start the Acceler8DB Service.

Workstation
Windows Vista Business or Ultimate, XP Pro, or 2000 recommended. Windows Home editions are not supported. Windows 98 (2nd edition) will run, but is not recommended due to occasional random errors.
256MB RAM is required.

Processor
Pentium III or higher recommended.

Screen Resolution
800 x 600 pixels minimum requirement. The bigger the screen, the more data you will be able to view at once. VGA or higher resolution.

AVR runtime
ASNA´s AVR runtime (deployment) release 4.0 version 11.384 or later must be installed on each workstation and the server (if using a PC server). Versions 11.385 through 11.444 may not work correctly, but 11.445 or later will. This can be downloaded from our website at downloads. ASNA´s website is www.asna.com.

Printing
Everything is Windows printing. Laser printers recommended. AS/400 printers are not supported.

Excel
In order to take full advantage of the system, Excel should be installed on every workstation. Some of the more advanced prints use Excel for reporting. Must be Microsoft Excel 2007, 2003, 2002, or 2000. OpenOffice is not supported.

PDF Writer
If you wish to get reports in PDF form, it is a good idea to have a PDF writer on each PC so you can print to a PDF file anywhere there is an option to print. PDF gives you the ability to bring up the report whenever you wish, email it, search for text within it, and much more. Some good PDF writers are PDF995, Win2PDF, Acrobat, Easy PDF Writer, and RoboPDF.

Support
We provide support via phone and email from 8-5 EST. If you need online support from SGA offices, which we recommend, you can use Remote Desktop, Remote Assistance, GoToMyPC, LogMeIn, VPN, WebEx, or other internet access. If you don´t have a VPN and don´t have a firewall, the free tool we recommend to use is the Remote Assistance tool within Windows Messenger or LogMeIn.

Backup
We recommend using a zip drive, CD/DVD writer, or tape for daily backups.
