Import Budgets from Excel    (Maximize this screen before viewing)

General Ledger – Budget Entry – Account – Import Budgets From Excel

 

Rearrange order of columns by using up/down arrows.

 

Select which budget column you want to export. 

 

Select the columns to include

 

 

 

For convenience, you may set the full path of the location of the Excel file to be imported.  You may enter or overlay the filename later at the time of import.

 

 

 

Check these boxes if you wish to copy last year’s budget info (# components, description, or amount) into the next year budget column on the Excel spreadsheet.  If you use many components this may be helpful so you don’t have to re-enter the component descriptions to begin working on next year’s budget. 

 

Leave the boxes unchecked to export whatever budgets and/or component information has been entered for next year. 

 

 

Set the full path of where the exported Excel file will be located.  Check the box to auto-save the exported file.

 

 

The number of months (number of rows) to include in the Excel worksheet.   Enter 1 to budget annually.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Select the range of accounts you wish to export/import by clicking Add.

 

 

 

Save the settings for this format.

 
 

 

 

 

 

 


Save the format settings with a name description of your choice.  You may save this format for yourself, another user, or for all users.

 

 

After saving the format settings, click the Export button.

 

Print Log if you wish to see all accounts affected.

 

After clicking the Export button, wait until you see “Finished Exporting”.  If any errors have occurred, they will be displayed.

 

 

The account information selected will be displayed as an Excel worksheet.  This example shows that the number of months to export was set at 12 (Export tab) for budgeting monthly.

 

This example shows that the number of months to export was set at 1 (Export tab) for budgeting annually.

 

From this Excel worksheet you may enter next year budget figures directly into the cell. 

 


 

 

If you enter component amounts, enter the first amount on the first account line and all other components after it.

 

You may also add budget components for an account by inserting a row, entering the component description and amount. 

 

 

 

Before importing any budget figures from Excel, be SURE you save your files before proceeding.

To import budget figures from the Excel worksheet, first select the format. 

 

 

Set the full path of the Excel workbook to be imported.

 

 

 

Click the Import button to import the budget amounts from the spreadsheet. 

The newly imported budget figures should now appear on the budget entry screen.
